BoardLinks
Equalising the gender diversity ratio, across the board
BoardLinks is a Government initiative supporting women’s leadership opportunities and representation on Government boards. It is a key tool in assisting the Australian Government achieve its 1:1, male to female, boardroom gender diversity target.
Folk worked with the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to create the visual identity and key messaging across print and online communication, including a new website.
The symmetry of the BoardLinks name, a ratio of five to five characters, became the simple idea and device behind the identity. The tagline ‘Equals success’ underlines BoardLinks’ effective and aspirational intent.
The new website, launched at a recent event held at Kirribilli House, provides access to the BoardLinks database, which connects Australia’s industry leading women with opportunities to be considered for Australian Government board appointments.
As reported in the AICD Company Matters magazine:
Senator the honourable Michaelia Cash, Minister for Women, recently hosted an event with the AICD at Kirribilli House to launch the Federal Governments new BoardLinks website and the Office for Women’s Gender Balance Report 2015-16. The BoardLinks program collects details of skilled and experienced woman who can be considered for government board appointments as vacancies arise. It assists the Australian Government to achieve its aim of 50 per cent representation of women across all government boards. The launch is a further initiative in the partnership between the AICD and the Federal Government’s Office for Women. More than 330 scholarships for AICD governance education have been awarded to emerging and board-ready female directors through the partnership.
