Graham hosts AGDA Pecha Kucha evening at Sydney Design Festival
AGDA’s annual Pecha Kucha event has become one of its most prestigious
Now a part of the Sydney Design Festival, the sold-out event is held at the Powerhouse Museum’s 300-seat theatre here in Sydney.
Despite all this, our own creative director, Graham Barton (green slacks, above), was invited to be its host.
We were delighted. And very happily accepted.
Ten leaders in their respective creative fields presented in ‘Pecha Kucha’ format: 20 slides, shown for 20 seconds each, totalling seven minutes each. Give or take.
Japanese for ‘chit-chat’, the format keeps presentations concise and fast-paced, and makes for a great night. This was no exception.
“Positive Impact” was the topic: how, why and what’s the cost of doing something ‘good’: socially, environmentally and creatively.
Graham was one of seven speakers at AGDA’s inaugural Pecha Kucha event back in 2014. And helped curate the event in late 2016, while Chair of AGDA NSW Council. “It was a treat to involved, again. To be the grouting between the tiles, at such an event. In such company.”
